Director, Producer, Contributing Writer, 2nd Unit Camera

Marlin is probably the world's most traveled filmmaker. Over his 46-year career he's made award-winning movies and documentaries in more than 140 countries. Thousands of his international motion shots are represented by National Geographic.   For his movies, and for his 100+ documentaries, travel productions and educational films, he was honored with a Knighthood in the Royal House of Portugal in 2014.  "An Egypt Affair" is his 3rd feature film.  His other movies include "Monsoon Wife" (2004) and "Amazon Queen" (2021). 

 

Marlin has won "Best Director" and "Best Producer" at 20+ international film festivals and awards events.  His films have won 50+ "Best Feature Film" awards and 70+ nominations at more than 100 film festivals / events.  Each year Marlin also presents various geography lectures/films at dozens of theaters and auditoriums throughout the U.S.   Marlin is also a musician, and an avid collector of paintings and fine Turkish and Persian rugs.  He lives in L.A. with his wife and producing partner, Lin Zuo.  His daughter, Maya McDarragh, is an artist living and studying in Montreal.

Executive Producer,  Assistant Director, Actor

Nick was a producer, an executive producer, an assistant director and an actor in two recent feature films, "An Egypt Affair" (2023) and "Amazon Queen" (2021).  He holds BAs in Political Science and Liberal Arts, an MA in International Diplomacy from DU's Josef Korbel School, and an MBA from the Hult International School of Business. He was picked to be a 2015 Gabr Fellow, chosen as a Congressional Youth Ambassador to South Korea in '08, and as an OFA Fellow. He is an Eagle Scout, Rotarian, Freemason, an honorary lifetime member of Hosteling International & the Nat'l Committee on U.S. China Relations, and a 3x alumnus of Semester at Sea.

Nick has traveled to more than 70 countries and all 50 U.S. states.  He has operated international adventure travel programs, consulted and spoken on the sharing economy and SDGs, spent 15 years in the American political circus (including a embarking on a U.S. Congressional race in 2018), and worked as Director of Business Development for EarthX, the world's largest environmental experience.  He currently lives in Boulder, Colorado.

ROBERT NADELL, DVM

&  KELLIE NADELL

Executive Producers

Robert Nadell, DVM is an executive producer on the adventure-thriller films "Amazon Queen"  (2021) and "An Egypt Affair" (2023).  Robert received his Doctorate from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University in 1982 and is currently the majority owner and President of four veterinary hospitals in  Washington.  Kellie Nadell is also an executive producer on "An Egypt Affair" and has her degree from the University of Washington.  Robert and Kellie live in Seattle with their son Bobby.

Paige is known for his accomplished career as a business owner, photographer, sound technician and as a performing artist.  He's an executive producer on "An Egypt Affair" (2023) for the upcoming adventure-thriller, "Madagascar Gold."  He lives in Portland, Oregon.

As a two-time Emmy® nominated and multi-award winning producer/director, Michael has worked in many production disciplines; commercial, music video, documentary, corporate film and independent film.  He is known for his ability to deliver films that are always engaging.  Always infused with a narrative style, his work is committed and distinctive.  His 30+ year career has seen Hull's award-winning work grace many of the world's leading brands; ESPN,  Hewlett-Packard (national commercial campaigns and international high-tech documentaries), MasterCard (the longest running DRTV ad of its time), DIVA TV (the world's first interactive television system), World Cup Soccer, as-well-as keynote films for global events such as the 2002 UN Summit on Sustainable Development held in South Africa.  Michael has taught and lectured at Santa Clara University and the University of Oregon.  His global production experience has taken him to India, Egypt, South Africa, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Haiti and throughout the EU.    He lives in Eugene, Oregon with his wife and children.

Producer, Contributing Writer, Still Photographer

Lin Zuo is a Beijing, China–born producer and scriptwriter.  Lin has produced and directed many cross-cultural educational programs and events for both the government and the private sectors.   She is one of the producers for the adventure thriller  “An Egypt Affair,” - and contributed to the story - of the award-winning thriller movie “Amazon Queen,” currently being distributed worldwide.  Besides independent movies, Lin Zuo is also producing a historical and cultural documentary series entitled, “Treasures along the Maritime Silk Road,” which includes episodes such of “From Lisbon to Macau,” “ Marco Polo Treasures – the Story of Nanhai One Shipwreck,” and others.   She’s also a recognized and veteran cultural liaison who connects production teams, media and audiences between the West and China.  Before entering the film production business, Lin Zuo was a marketing director at China’s largest software company,  and a very successful program manager for cultural exchange and resource sustainability programs between the U.S. & China.

Writer 

Eric is a veteran screenwriter and producer of feature films.  Eric's recent credits include Lifetime's "Amish Abduction" (2019) and "A Dangerous Date" (2017), his gritty fight action "Blood Circus" (2016, Marvista) and his family friendly "Arlo the Burping Pig" (2016, Lionsgate).  Eric is also an award-winning (WriteMovies) screenwriter for his dark dental dramedy "Perfect Smile," about a womanizing dentist on the run.  Outside of filmmaking, Eric serves as course director for the Ethics, Professionalism and Law in Dentistry course at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.

WILL PATCHING

Writer, Associate Producer

Will is an accomplished independent author from the UK with seven highly acclaimed, best-selling crime thriller novels to his name.  Although “Egyptian Affair” is his first full-length screenplay to be produced as a movie, he has years of experience editing other writers’ scripts.  His dark crime thrillers have been described as ‘James Patterson meets Stephen King.'  Will, a Harvard alumnus, worked as the CEO of a UK recruitment consultancy until he chose to opt out of London’s rat race in 1998.  He works as a writer, an editor, a hospitality sector entrepreneur, and a board-level business consultant ever since.  Will is currently completing a novel based on “Eygptian Affair,”  due to be published in August to coincide with the release of the movie.  No doubt, this on-page thriller will allow him to once again fully indulge his Brit-grit dark side …    He lives on a beach with his wife on the enchanting island  of Khao Samui, Thailand.

Associate Producer

Vicky's extensive resume includes nearly 150 commercials and numerous film and television credits.  Her first television role was beside Jodie Foster, in the ABC special "Rookie of The Year."  She followed that up with a supporting role in a dramatic comedy alongside Denzel Washington, George Segal and Susan Saint James.  Vicky then moved on to star in the iconic film, "The Prowler."  Ms. Dawson spent the next two years as Dee Simpson on "As The World Turns," (CBS), alongside Meg Ryan, Julianne Moore and Marisa Tomei among others.  In the world of theater she has worked as an actress or director in more than 50 productions on stages across the United States.  She has received numerous nominations and awards for her roles over the years. She has also appeared in "About Hope" (2019), "Toxicity" (2020) and many shorts and festival films. Vicky recently traveled to Brazil for her supporting role as Maggie in "Amazon Queen," (2021).

Alfonso DiLuca is a Dominican-American actor, producer and writer.  He was born in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic.  His acting career spans stage and screen in Miami, New York and Los Angeles.  He is best known most recently for his role as "Jorge," in the beloved and popular TV series "Jane the Virgin."  He is also known for memorable roles in hit Hispanic soap-operas like "Prisionera" (as Tito Cabello) and "La Viuda de Blanco" with NBC/Telemundo, which have been translated into numerous languages and distributed in worldwide syndication.  Other works include the role of "Cristo" in "Burn Notice," as well as participation in multiple American TV series as "NCIS: New Orleans" and "Days of Our Lives" among others.  Alfonso is the author of numerous registered scripts, including Hispanic-themed (bilingual) Screenplays, Comedy Series, Pilots and Short Films.  His story lines treat themes related to Latin American historical fiction and current events. He is a collector of scientific books, an avid reader, a student of languages and anthropology, as well as an advanced scuba diver.  Alfonso has been based in the Los Angeles area since 2008.

ROBERT JOHNSON

Executive Producer

Now retired from his career as a teacher/professor and coach, Robert, a lifelong film buff, is an activist for peace and environmental issues.  He is an executive producer for "Ab Egypt Affair" and for the upcoming movie, "Madagascar Gold."  He lives in Colorado.

Associate Producer, Contributing Writer

Yolanthe was born on March 19, 1985 on the Balearic islands of Ibiza. She has a Spanish father and a Dutch mother. She moved to the Netherlands when she was 5 years old and had most of her upbringing there. At the age of 16 Yolanthe started her acting career.  In 2012 Yolanthe was starring in the main role as "Mariken van Dalen" in one of the episodes of the TV hit series "Van God Los." In 2013 Yolanthe played the role of 'Nienke Loos' in the movie "Valentino."  In that same year she starred in the Hollywood movie "Pain & Gain" as 'Analee Calvera' the love interest of Mark Wahlberg.  Yolanthe was also in the detective series: "DNA," where she has the leading role of a tough and uncompromising detective 'Lara Noord' That series aired January 2019.  She is currently shooting a major movie in Holland and starring in a new Netflix series.  Readers of the Dutch men's magazine FHM voted Yolanthe as 'The Sexiest Dutch' woman, 3 years in a row. Yolanthe won BNN's award for best actress.

In addition to her on screen career, Yolanthe started her own foundation "Free A Girl" in 2008. The main goals of her foundation are to prevent child abuse and to rescue children who are being abused around the world.  Through that organization's efforts, several thousand young girls have been rescued and have been rehabilitated.  Yolanthe lives with her son Xess, in Los Angeles.
