BACKGROUND: This 83-minute adventure-romance movie involving love, deception, betrayal and redemption was recently filmed on-location and features breathtaking panoramic views of desert Egypt and the Egypt of the pharaohs. AN EGYPT AFFAIR unfolds on an exotic riverboat cruising up the great Nile River between Luxor and Aswan. Shot in 2022, Marlin Darrah assembled for his movie a cast of accomplished veteran actors including Yolanthe Cabau ("Pain and Gain"), Massi Furlan ("Jumanji, the Next Level") and Alfonso DiLuca (CW-"Jane the Virgin") and features three talented and emerging younger actors, Jarred Harper ("American Housewife"), Nick Dreselly Thomas ("Amazon Queen"), Lesley Grant ("Paradise Hills") and Stacey Marie Williams ("The Cake").

This is multi-award-winning director Marlin Darrah's third feature film.
DISTRIBUTION: "An Egypt Affair" will be released in February 2023. It will be screened around the world at dozens of film festivals and events. The movie is certain to inspire audiences, as they return to theaters to experience first-hand the enjoyment of viewing movies such as this - with grand Egypt as background - on the silver screen.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
Over the past 45 years, I've been very lucky to have produced more than 100 productions across the globe. AN EGYPT AFFAIR is my 3rd feature film, and I wanted to make it in the same spirit of indie-filmmaking as I had done with my previous movies, "Monsoon Wife" in Cambodia, and "Amazon Queen" in Brazil. To produce and direct a drama-suspense feature film in the Egypt had been one of my dreams and passion projects for many years. I'd spent several months in Egypt during previous trips, but in 2022, I finally was able to assemble an intrepid team of actors and filmmakers who were willing and able to take on this challenge. And making a movie in the tightly-controlled country of Egypt was a daunting task. Through this film, I want to transport viewers into the exotic bazaars, through the ancient temples and tombs, into the severe beauty of the deserts and sail along the great Nile River, so audiences can be entertained, yes - but also to learn more about the stunning marvel that is Egypt. - Marlin Darrah
